      JOSEPH WALLACE "WALLY" SOUCY

      Joseph "Wally" Soucy, 80, of Edgewater, died peacefully on March 11, 2011 at S.E. Volusia Care Center. He was born Sept. 5, 1930 in Waterbury, CT and moved to Middlebury before retiring to Edgewater. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during the Korean war era. He opened Josh's Place in Oak Hill for two years before re-retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and children, playing cards and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria; a brother, Thomas; three daughters, Deborah and Jody and her husband Frank Basile of Florida, Terri and her partner George of Connecticut; eight grandchildren, Larry, Joshua, Francis and Andrew of Florida, Christina and Frankie of Minnesota, and Joseph and Desiree of Connecticut; and two great-grand-children, Joshua Jr. of Florida and Steven of Minnesota. He was pre-deceased by a son, Thomas; two brothers, Roger and Gerald; and a sister, Florence. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 24 at 5 p.m. at S.E. Volusia Care Center Chapel, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater.
