      WINSLOW -- George J. Massey, 80, of Winslow, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born in Augusta on April 27, 1933, a son of Alfred Massey I and Amosa (Gagne) Massey.
      George was employed by a bakery in Winslow, Hallowell Shoe Factory and Fort Western Tire Co.
      He was an avid Red Sox fan.
      He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Massey, Amedy Massey and Alfred Massey Jr.; two sisters, Mary Eva Dorr and Rose Michaud; and a grandson, Anthony Massey.
      George is survived by his wife, Della (Trask) Massey, of Winslow; his children, Mike Massey and girlfriend Judy, of St. Albans, Linda Massey, of Gardiner, Sandra Soucy and husband Bob, of Chelsea, Bruce Massey, of St. Albans, Penny Greene, of Temple, Texas, and Cindy Greene, of Belton, Texas; stepdaughter Ellen Potter, of South Dakota; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
      Visiting hours will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug 23, 2013, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner.
